Directions to Vienna University of Economics and Business
By plane
Most international carriers fly to Vienna International Airport VIE which is about 20 km away from the city centre.
There are several options from the airport to the conference venue:
- Local or suburban railway S7 ("Schnellbahn S7"):
Departure from the airport approximately every 30 minutes, travel time 25 minutes to station "Praterstern" (about 10 stops), change to the underground (U-Bahn) U2 and continue in direction "Aspernstrasse" for one stop, get off at "Messe-Prater", or for two stops, get off at "Krieau".
The single ticket for the suburban railway from the airport and one direction within Vienna costs €; 4,40 at the ticket machine on the platform at the airport.
- City Airport Train (CAT):
The CAT transports you non-stop within 16 minutes to "Landstraße/Wien Mitte" every 30 minutes (return ticket € 19,- (17,-), single ticket € 12,- (11,-) - the cheaper prices in brackets are only valid if you book the ticket(s) online),
From "Landstraße/Wien Mitte" continue your journey on the underground. Take U4 towards "Heiligenstadt" for 2 stops, change at "Schottenring" for U2 and continue in direction "Aspernstrasse" for 3 stops, get off at "Messe-Prater", or for 4 stops, get off at "Krieau" - a ticket for one direction costs € 2,20.
- Vienna Airport Lines:
Coaches depart every 30 minutes to "Morzinplatz/Schwedenplatz" (single ticket €; 8,- return ticket €; 13,-). Travel time approximately 50 minutes.
From "Schwedenplatz" take the underground U1 towards "Leopoldau" for 2 stops, change at "Praterstern" to U2 in direction "Aspernstrasse" for one stop, get off at "Messe-Prater", or for two stops, get off at "Krieau".
- Taxi/cab:
Several taxi companies offer a comfortable way to travel and depending on the time of your travel also a very quick way to get into town. Please reserve your taxi in advance to get the special airport tariff, approx. € 30,-
By Train
- Train station "Wien Hauptbahnhof":
The train station is connected to underground station "Südtiroler Platz" on the U1. To continue your journey take the underground U1 towards "Leopoldau" for 6 stops, change at "Praterstern" to U2 in direction "Aspernstrasse" for one stop, get off at "Messe-Prater", or for two stops, get off at "Krieau".
- Train station "Wien Westbahnhof":
Take U3 in direction "Simmering" for 3 stations to "Volkstheater" and change there to U2 towards "Aspernstrasse" to "Messe-Prater" (6 stops) or "Krieau" (7 stops).
- Train station "Wien Meidling":
Take U6 in direction "Floridsdorf" for 2 stops and change at "Längenfeldgase". From there take U4 towards "Heiligenstadt" until "Schottenring" (8 stops), then take U2 and towards "Aspernstrasse" for one stop, get off at "Messe-Prater", or for two stops, get off at "Krieau".
